ABOUT
From classical stages to the darkest corners of electronic rock music, susann (Susann Offenmüller) has carved out a singular place in today’s artistic landscape—an artist, composer, and conductor who refuses to fit into any tradition, expectation, or genre.
Born in Germany and based in Los Angeles, she is part of a new generation redefining what it means to create art in the modern world.
A classically trained composer and conductor with European roots, susann spent years mastering the language of orchestral music. Her background spans film scoring, contemporary classical music, and large-scale orchestral performance, all infused with the emotional precision and symbolic depth of her heritage. Today, she merges that world with the raw force of dark electronic music and rock/metal, forging a hybrid sound that is as cinematic as it is daring.
Her artist project susann is a rebel brand—born in the dark, fighting her way into the light. Challenging societal norms of what it means to be a woman today, she dives into themes of control and vulnerability, desire and guilt, love and trauma—the eternal dance between angel and demon. Inspired by alternative and electronic music, European classical tradition, psychoanalytic symbolism, and raw emotional storytelling, every piece she creates becomes a ritual of transformation, inviting listeners into a world of radical self-expression, rebirth, and the timeless pursuit of love, beauty, freedom, and truth.
Her upcoming debut album, uncontrolled & vulnerable, is a cinematic, visceral descent into the fire and fragility of the feminine psyche. Written and produced entirely by susann, the project is not just an album—it is an exorcism. Distorted synths collide with operatic vocals; shattered strings melt into hypnotic basslines. Each track confronts past lovers, inner demons, and societal conditioning—the quiet and violent battles fought inside a woman who refuses to stay silent.
Alongside her work as an artist, susann has become a formidable composer for film. Her scores blend Hollywood’s cinematic power with European cultural heritage and a postmodern edge—music marked by emotional precision, symbolism, and psychological depth. Her debut feature score for Everything That Will Happen Has Already Happened (dir. Vladan Nikolic) premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2024. She has been selected for the MSCN Film Music Festival Academy, and the Young Talent Composer Programme of FMF Krakow in 2024. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, she completed her studies in Composition for Film & Media at the top of her class.
As a conductor, susann is known for her sensitivity, clarity, and presence. She moves effortlessly between Bach, Shostakovich, and contemporary works, bringing new music to life with intensity and emotional intelligence. For her, conducting is the art of shaping energy—becoming a vessel through which the music breathes, speaks, and transforms. She is currently founding a new orchestra dedicated to reimagining the classical concert experience for the modern world. In 2024, she has been accepted in the Audite International Conductors Academy.
A rising force in alternative music, contemporary classical conducting, and film scoring, susann stands for one thing above all: fearless creation. Her work is proof of what happens when an artist stops apologizing for her intensity and chooses to live fully, boldly, and unapologetically.
There is no one quite like susann—and the world she is building is only just beginning.
